Cute kind of everyday makeup.

This is my first makeup tutorial! I am so excited to share it with you all! This is the look I do when I want something simple, but fun, and different.

Okay let's get into it!

So first I applied my foundation and setting powder. I used to use Stila Natural Finish oil free makeup, but it's so expensive! It works great though, if you can afford it, I definitely recommend it. I was also using Airspun as a setting powder, but I felt like it made my face look a bit chalky. When I ran out of both I got (the only drug store makeup I'm not allergic to, pretty much) Almay tlc truly lasting color, 16 hour makeup in Naked 03 160, and Almay Clear Complexion powder in Light 100. I also use Almay Concealer in Light 100. They all work really well, and turned out to be good replacements for my loved Stila foundation.

I then primed my lids with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden.
Make sure that when you apply your primer you rub it in REALLY well, otherwise it does exactly what it's supposed to stop, and no one wants unsightly creases on their lids. Also make sure that you rub it all around your eye, don't neglect your lower lash line.

Then I took Midnight Cowboy Rides Again by Urban Decay and covered my whole eye, up to the brow bone. I also lined my lower lash line, and smudged it down a little. The pictures I took of just that color on my eyes sucked, a lot. So you can just figure it out without a picture. Sorry.

Then I used MAC Naked Lunch  on my lid. Again the color is a little too light for my suckish camera to catch.
Next up I used MAC Woodwinked, on my crease:
applied it with a very heavy hand . It does not have to look good at this point. Put it on to almost the inner corner of you eye.

Then you are going to blend it up and out, a bit. Just blend until it looks good to you.

I then lined just the outer corner, very close to the lid with black liquid liner. I used Femme Couture, you can buy it at Sally's.

I used a lot of mascara, as is my custom. For me it's all about the lashes! I love me so big lashes. Other than Aerie brand mascara (which is the best) Maybelline's Great Lash, is well, great. It's super cheap too, and now that they've taken all the yucky ingredients out, I think it's excellent.

Here's the finished look on the eyes:

Once I finished my eyes I applied Aerie blush in Primrose  (there's a link to a review I really liked), on the apples of my cheeks.

Then my lips got a dose of Rimmel London Pink Blush

And here is the final product!

I look confused in this picture, but whatevs.
This picture is kind of blurry, but I like it. =P

So what do you think?

XOXO,
Shelly

Aerie Color.

So if you cannot tell that Kieran and I are kind of in love with Aerie Color, you must be new around here or you don't pay much attention (don't worry we still love you). Anyway, that is why it is my obligation to tell you that Aerie Color AND Aerie Botanicals have both been discontinued, due to American Eagle Outfitters budget cuts. The good part: because of the discontinuation everything is on clearance for three dollars and some change. That means that lotion you've been totally coveting for the last month that normally costs $12.95 (or something) is now about three dollars - FULL SIZED, yeah that's right, be shocked. Before it got discontinued Aerie came out with it's holiday collection  and let me just tell you it is absolutely luscious! I got a twenty dollar full face compact that is about $20.00 for $3.00. I am sure they must have had quite a lot of stock left because I find out about a week after they made the call (that was last week) and they still had quite a few things, so no need to hurry, but I know you want too! Anyway this is a courtesy post for all of you Aerie and/or deal lovers out there.

XOXO,

(a sad) Shelly

TAG: What I'm Using Now(Kieran)

Hello lovelies!

I know it's been a while since my last post, but I've been super busy lately, and I'm guessing Shelly has, too. But now I'm back with a quick tag- What I'm using now!
After seeing this tag on various beauty blogs, I decided to fill it out!

Shampoo: Pantene Solutions Dry-To-Moisturized shampoo for medium-thick hair.

Conditioner: Pantene Solutions Dry-To-Moisturized conditioner for medium-thick hair.

Styling products: I don't use many styling products, but right now I'm loving the Pantene Beautiful Lengths replenishing mask.

Shower Gel: Tone Detox White Clay and Pink Jasmine body wash.

Body moisturizer: Neutrogena Intense Moisture Wrap.

Deodorant: Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth in Nature Fresh.

Fake Tan: None. I'm a ghost and I love it. xP

Cleanser: Clean & Clear Finishes Pore Perfecting Cleanser. (Read my review here!)

Toner: None.

Exfoliator: PINK Sugar Scrub in Citrus & Mint:, and sometimes I make my own with white sugar and whatever cleanser or body wash I use at the time, and a few drops of lavender essential oil.

Primer: None.

Foundation brush: I prefer to use my fingers to apply foundation, but on occasion I might use the foundation brush from E.L.F.

Concealer: Neutrogena SkinClearing blemish concealer in "Buff."

Powder: Physician's Formula Organic Wear Loose Powder in "Creamy Natural."
.

Blush: I don't really wear much blush, but when I do, I use N.Y.C Blendable Creme Stick in "Big Apple Blush."

Bronzer: None.

Curler: E.L.F Eyelash Curler(I LOVE this!).

Mascara: Maybelline Volum' Express mascara.

That's it! I'd love to hear your answers to these questions; so either consider yourself tagged, or post your answers in a comment!

Review: Aerie Color Superfruit Vitamin Lipgloss

Hola everyone!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post, but I've had a lot going on lately and didn't have much time to sit down and write. But I've been cleaning my house all day and now I'm taking a break to bring you my latest review: Aerie Color Superfruit Vitamin Lipgloss!

You might remember the post that Shelly did a little while back about Aerie Color; she reviewed the eyeshadow palettes, mascara, and the Volugloss lipgloss. Now it's my turn to take a spin with Aerie Color!

Aerie Color Superfruit Vitamin Lipgloss in Pout (Retail: 9.50)
(Please note that the tube I have is a small size that Aerie gave away as part of their A-list promotion, the full-sized tube is much bigger. )

(Yes, it's on my windowsill!)

Pout is a really lovely shade of medium-light pink with iridescent blue sparkles in it, which are REALLY hard to capture on camera, but here is a swatch that best shows them:

See all those blue flecks? Totally gorgeous! I really love this shade, and I think it might even be my new favorite lipgloss!

This picture doesn't really show just how pretty Pout is. In real life, the pink is a bit more vibrant, and you can actually see the blue shimmer better.

The texture is another thing I really love about this gloss- it's sticky enough so that it stays on my lips, but not so sticky that I feel like I'm wearing maple syrup! It has a good consistency that is easily applied, and it does last for a pretty good amount of time. Something I thought was interesting was that once the gloss itself wore off, I still had the baby-pink color on my lips. It didn't look like I was wearing any lip color, but I knew because it was a different color from my natural lip shade.

The next thing I LOVE LOVE LOVE about this gloss is the scent! It smells like tropical fruit, just like the name suggests. And I'm not talking about lipgloss-fruit-scent, I mean it really smells like tropical fruit! Something else I really like is that  I don't get any hints of that weird artificial lipgloss smell. This is one of those times where having your mouth be right under your nose is heaven! LOL!

It is a bit pricey, but I think that I would most likely repurchase this when I run out.

All in all, Aerie Color Superfruit Vitamin lipgloss is a great gloss, from texture to scent to color. I would highly recommend this!

Have a great weekend!

Mini Mall Haul

Hello everyone! Kieran here with a small haul from the mall! (Don't you love the rhyme? Heheh!)

Today, Shelly and I, along with our friend Victoria, went to the mall just to kind of hang out and maybe do a little bit of shopping. We wanted to look at some prom dresses, but we ended up not doing that... shows how easily we are distracted! We don't have a very good strategy when it comes to how we walk through the mall. We may walk ALL the way to one end and then walk ALL the way back down, and then go ALL the way the other way AGAIN, because we always forget where stores are or what stores we want to hit. And that's just the bottom level!

I only bought things from two stores, but that's good! I gave myself a budget and didn't even spend all of that budget. Good Kieran! I think I deserve a pat on the head for that. LOL!

Here's a quick look at what I got:

First, we stopped in at Forever 21. You may be surprised to learn that I have NEVER been in a Forever 21 before today, even though there is a huge one in my mall! We looked at clothes and some pretty gladiator-inspired sandals for a while, but there was nothing that we really wanted or wanted to shell out the cash for. It's pretty pricey stuff!

But then, my lovelies, we hit the jackpot.

 $$$  CLEARANCE SHELVES!  $$$

Oh yes. Clearance shelves are my best friend. I love getting a good bargain and I am not ashamed of buying things that are on clearance. I save SO much money that way!

They had a lot of accessories on clearance: scarves, bracelets, glasses, necklaces, etc. We were browsing those little shelves for a long time, trying things on, trying to figure out what to get. Finally, I found an awesome pair of sunglasses, as you can see in the above picture. They are a very pretty pewter-gray color with a metal piece on the very top. I love them! I also found a black leather bracelet with silver chains on it. What I love about this bracelet is that is is one piece, but if you wrap it a little, it looks like two bracelets. It also has a snap-closure on it so that I could even wear it as a necklace. Shelly also picked up two pairs of super cute glasses. Here is a closer look at the two items I got, sorry it's so blurry! =(

Sunglasses: On clearance for $2.00
Leather bracelet: On clearance for $1.00

So, before tax, I only spent 3 bucks at Forever 21. Seems like a pretty good deal to me!

Next, we went to Victoria's Secret. When we walked in, one of the sales ladies informed us that all of the PINK body products were on a special, mix & match 3 for $12. That's really amazing because normally, each of the PINK body items retails for $12 each! We looked around for a while, and admired the Victoria's Secret eyeshadows, which are soooo silky and nice! And then we sniffed the Love Rocks perfume and the Sexy Little Things Noir perfume, which both smell AHHH-MA-ZING and also come in the cutest bottles! Then we looked at the PINK bath/body items and I decided to jump on the 3/$12 deal and picked up these three items:

PINK Body Mist in Citrus & Mint: $12.00 or limited time 3/$12

PINK Sugar Scrub in Citrus & Mint: $12.00 or limited time 3/$12
PINK Body Lotion in Cucumber & Water Lily: $12.00 or limited time 3/$12

I wanted to get the lotion in the same scent as the scrub and the mist, but I wasn't too crazy about how the Citrus & Mint lotion smelled, and the Cucumber & Water Lily lotion is a very clean scent, but to me smells a bit like bubble gum! I should also tell you right now that the sugar scrub smells just like walking into a Jamba Juice store. I love that smell!

It cost about $13 and change after tax for all three items, but I only had to pay $3 and the change because I had a $10 Secret Rewards card from a bra I ordered from the website in March! I will use these products for a few days and then hopefully have some reviews up about them, however, I can tell you that a while after I got home I used some of the sugar scrub on my arms and WOW... I love it already. But I'll wait to give you any details until the review!

Remember Shelly's post about the Aerie makeup? Well, we stopped in at Aerie and our friend Victoria tried the mascara that Shelly loves so much and ended up buying one!

After several hours of shopping, we stopped at the food court and got drinks, blizzards and some dinner.

I only spent about $7 and change for all of the stuff I got today, and I had a really good time hanging out with Shelly and Victoria. Good day indeed!

xo,

Kieran

Review : Aerie Color

Hey, howdy, hi, pip pip cherio, whichever you prefer! I am here to tell you about some fantastic new products!

Now I don't know about  Kieran, but for me it is a personal rule that you do not suggest or review something you have not tried. That is why I have held back on this review I could not wait to give, because I had not tried the product. But now I finally have, and let me tell you, I was blown away by what I have discovered!

The products in question are from a line produced by "aerie, by American Eagle Outfitters" called "aerie color". Aerie color is a line of eyes and lips products that are said to produce " Eyes that shine... Lips that shimmer... Beauty that's naturally you." And they aren't lying. I honestly cannot find ANYTHING wrong with these products! Granted I have only tried the shadow, one of the lip glosses, and Mascara, but at the drugstore prices it won't take me long to try the whole collection!

Let's start with the shadow.
This is the most silky eyeshadow I have ever tried! It lasts a good twelve hours, and about an hour in the pool. The colors are vibrant, soft, smooth and plush. The compact is adorable, and COMPACT. These eye shadows are even good for you! They are infused with Honeysuckle, Aloe and Chamomile, for sensitive eyes and skin. If I do have to say something bad about it the only thing I can think of is the applicator could do with a little fine tuning, but who uses the applicators eyeshadows come with anyway?? For a drugstore price of $14.50 what's not to love? This product is APPROVED!"Long-wear, ultra-soft creaseless shadows comes in 4 palettes with 5 shades each. 3 for everyday, 1 fashion color and 1 deep shimmering, smoky shade for evening. Available in Irresistible (berry), Glam (green), Femme (blue) and Goddess (brown). Retail Price: $14.50"

Moving On! Vast Lash Mascara!

"This high performing, multi-tasking mascara is enriched with wheat protein which helps fortify and condition lashes. Wait till you see our spiral brush technology. You’ll swear it’s a magic wand. Available only in Pitch Black. Retail Price: $10.50"

How does aerie keep nailing there descriptions?! Because
e every single one of them is spot on! Okay, so I am a mascara snob, I buy the same brand of mascara every three months, just like a good girl. I have tried everything from cheapo drugstore brands like wet 'n wild to uber expensive brands like chanel, and none of them have done for me what this mascara has! It is the longest wearing, easiest to get off, most unclumpy, smooth, most natural mascara I have ever used! It's got one of the coolest looking brushes ever, and for some reason that brush works like no other! This product is also APPROVED!

"Helps plump your pout without any of the burn. Increase lip fulness and minimize lines while delivering extra moisture. Available in 8 shades: Doll, Bare, Precious, Fizz, Lush, Sunrise, Luxe, Shimmer, and Sizzle. Retail Price: $9.50"

This lip gloss is a plumper, but it does not burn like most people are used too. That is why I lurve it. It comes in eight fantastic shades. It makes your lips look as if they have been dipped in a vat of liquid diamonds! It does not feel sticky at all, it is very smooth, it almost feels like you are just wearing lip balm! That is why this product is APPROVED!

XOXO,
Shelly ;)
