Cute kind of everyday makeup.

This is my first makeup tutorial! I am so excited to share it with you all! This is the look I do when I want something simple, but fun, and different.

Okay let's get into it!

So first I applied my foundation and setting powder. I used to use Stila Natural Finish oil free makeup, but it's so expensive! It works great though, if you can afford it, I definitely recommend it. I was also using Airspun as a setting powder, but I felt like it made my face look a bit chalky. When I ran out of both I got (the only drug store makeup I'm not allergic to, pretty much) Almay tlc truly lasting color, 16 hour makeup in Naked 03 160, and Almay Clear Complexion powder in Light 100. I also use Almay Concealer in Light 100. They all work really well, and turned out to be good replacements for my loved Stila foundation.

I then primed my lids with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden.
Make sure that when you apply your primer you rub it in REALLY well, otherwise it does exactly what it's supposed to stop, and no one wants unsightly creases on their lids. Also make sure that you rub it all around your eye, don't neglect your lower lash line.

Then I took Midnight Cowboy Rides Again by Urban Decay and covered my whole eye, up to the brow bone. I also lined my lower lash line, and smudged it down a little. The pictures I took of just that color on my eyes sucked, a lot. So you can just figure it out without a picture. Sorry.

Then I used MAC Naked Lunch  on my lid. Again the color is a little too light for my suckish camera to catch.
Next up I used MAC Woodwinked, on my crease:
applied it with a very heavy hand . It does not have to look good at this point. Put it on to almost the inner corner of you eye.

Then you are going to blend it up and out, a bit. Just blend until it looks good to you.

I then lined just the outer corner, very close to the lid with black liquid liner. I used Femme Couture, you can buy it at Sally's.

I used a lot of mascara, as is my custom. For me it's all about the lashes! I love me so big lashes. Other than Aerie brand mascara (which is the best) Maybelline's Great Lash, is well, great. It's super cheap too, and now that they've taken all the yucky ingredients out, I think it's excellent.

Here's the finished look on the eyes:

Once I finished my eyes I applied Aerie blush in Primrose  (there's a link to a review I really liked), on the apples of my cheeks.

Then my lips got a dose of Rimmel London Pink Blush

And here is the final product!

I look confused in this picture, but whatevs.
This picture is kind of blurry, but I like it. =P

So what do you think?

XOXO,
Shelly

CVS Beauty Clearance Sale: A Dream Come True!

Hi! Kieran here. I'd like to start off by saying that this post would not be possible without the lovely Recessionista from Nouveau Cheap, because if she didn't post about the huge CVS makeup sale, I wouldn't have known! So thanks, Recessionista!

Now, on to the post!
I've been keeping a careful eye on the CVS beauty clearance sale for a while, since a boat-load of cosmetics are marked down 50-75%! I've purchased a few Revlon lipsticks and some makeup remover while they were on clearance, and of course that made me a very happy girl!

But earlier today, I stopped at CVS with my sister and my lovely mom to pick up a few things and I decided to check out the makeup(of course!), to see if they still had cosmetics on clearance, and they did. Not as much as when they first started out, obviously, but still, there were quite a few items with those little green stickers. At first, I contemplated purchasing some more Revlon lipsticks, but then I saw it.

Physician's Formula products, 75% off.

I could've died. I swear.

I know that some people don't really care for Physician's Formula, but I like it quite a bit. And this was the first time I've seen them marked down for the clearance sale. There were various blushes, bronzers, and some foundations that were marked down, but the things that caught my eye were the loose powders and finishing veils. I've always wanted to try them, but like most Physician's Formula products, they are pretty pricy, between 12-16 bucks a pop. So I jumped at the chance to try them out, and purchased one of each.

Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Matte Finishing Veil in "Translucent" (Retail: 12.99)
I paid: 3.25

Physician's Formula Organic Wear Loose Powder in "Creamy Natural" (Retail: 14.99)
I paid: 3.75

Crazy awesome price, right? My mom even bought herself one of the jars of loose powder to try out! From what I can tell by looking at the product, these powders will probably be really smooth and easy to apply, but I'll find out soon enough!

Oh, and before I forget, while I was at CVS I also picked up a cute Rimmel London single blush!

Rimmel London Mono Blush in Pink Rose. (Retail 3.50)
I paid: 0.87

And I repeat: Crazy awesome price! Oh, and that little smudge on the corner of the packaging is just some of the leftover glue from a CVS label.

I can't wait to try these babies out and hopefully have a review up soon!

Peace!

-Kieran

Rimmel London's Sexy Curves Mascara: Review

 Hey everyone, Kieran here!
As someone who has naturally short eyelashes, I'm always on the lookout for a good mascara. Something that can give my eyelashes enough volume and length without being too over-dramatic. I have tried MANY mascaras, from the really cheap brands to the expensive department-store kind. The biggest problem that I usually have with mascara is that it  always sticks to my lashes in big globs, and never lasts as long as it is advertised to. Then I found Rimmel London's Sexy Curves mascara and fell in in love.

It has a unique triple-plump brush for perfect definition and length. When I applied the first stroke of mascara I had instant results- My lashes were so much longer than they were without the mascara! So after I applied a few more strokes, I had beautiful definition and dramatic length. In the commercials and ads for this product, the model's eyelashes are incredibly long and defined, while I didn't get results quite as perfect as those, I got pretty close. Sexy Curves mascara dried very quickly once it was on my eyelashes, which made it a little bit difficult to apply several strokes, therefor making it a teeny bit clumpy. It was nothing too noticeable, however, and I was able to de-clump my eyelashes with a basic eyelash brush.  Sexy Curves mascara is also advertised to last up to 12 hours, though I'm not sure it did. It did last for quite some time, but not exactly 12 hours.
I bought this mascara at my local Walgreens for around $7.50.
So even though it does have it's flaws, for only $7.50, Sexy Curves is a really good mascara.

BUY NOW, LOOK INTO, or SKIP?
                    Buy now!

I give this product 4 out of 5 kisses.

Peace!
-Kieran
