Summer eyes

Blake Lively
Can I just say that Blake Lively is gorgeous! I promised that I would share summer makeup with you whenever I saw a look worth sharesies, and girls have I found one totally worth sharing! I found it while doing a google search for Gossip Girl, because I wanted to know when the season started, and I came across this gem! Blake Lively, popped up of course, as she is on the show, but I am not here to share with you my fan girl-ness, I am here to explain, what was probably used in this look, and why it is george!
I just love how her cheeks are so pink and cheery, it makes me think of pool parties and the lake, which in my opinion is the embodiment of summer. Next you have her eyes, I like how she didn't put on tons of eyeshadow, it looks like she used only a little highlighter on the lower inner lashline and a bit of a shimmery shade that closely matches her skin tone, so it looks totally natural. She finished the look off with a lovely shade of lipgloss.

Next I am going to show you some products that would work well for a "recreation" ;

Blush:  Dream Mousse Blush by Maybelline in Peach Satin about $5.94

Or for a splurge go for

NARS Blush in Torrid about $26.00
Inner Corner of the eye:

1 Kit eyeshadow by Cover Girl in French Vanilla about $2.75

Or

Eyeshadow by Urban Decay in Midnight Cowboy about $17.00

Eyeshadow on the lid:

Eyeshadow by Flirt! in Bronze Splash about $12.00

Or

Eyeshadow by Stila in Sun about $18.00

There you go now go recreate!

XOXO,
Shelly

The Wonder That Is...

Crayons, that is the wonder I speak of, They just saved me about fifty dollars, because you can make lipstick out of them! I made four lipsticks for the price of buying crappy lip balm, talk about fantastic! anyway onto the recipe.

Three crayola non toxic crayons
One tablespoon mineral oil
A container
and that's it, heat ingredients together in a double boiler, I suggest using an old can as the top of the boiler, because the lipstick will be hella hard to wash out of there.

These  are the colors I made;

I figured since I was making lipstick with crayons, I had right to make crazy colors. I was kind of dissapointed with the pictures though because if you actually saw me wearing them they are much, much, brighter, but hey what can I say, I use a cell phone camera, because it is what I have. Sorry.

I hope you all have as much fun making your crayon lippy as I did,

XOXO,
Shelly

Nail color of my life

This is my favorite nail polish color ever! It is george. My nails would feel naked without this color. It is flattering to almost all skin tones. It feels kinda retro to me (like something you might find in a fifties bathroom for tile) and it just rocks in general. Picture after the jump.

Touch'd Review and GIVEAWAY!

Hi everyone!

I recently got to be a part of a launch campaign for a bath care line called Touch'd Bath and Body, along with another handful of bloggers. I am so excited to share this review with you, and keep reading, because I have a special promo code for you, and one of my gorgeous readers is going to win a Touch'd goody! But before I get on with the review, here is a little about Touch'd:

"Touch'd bath and body was founded Rachel Ferrucci, when she couldn't find products to meet all the needs of her family. One product specifically, the organic sugar scrub, was created when her daughter had eczema and the doctors were prescribing medicated creams that seemed to be drying out her skin. She wanted to give her daughter relief without slopping medicated creams all over her delicate body. She researched and read every book on natural oils and how they can benefit our skin. She was successful in concocting the winning formulas in her home bathtub by making a product that was 100% organic and alleviated her eczema.

Other signature items in the Touch’d women’s product line include Bath Butter, Moisture Myst, and the Foaming Salt Soak, which is derived from the Dead Sea. The men’s line (inspired by her husband) includes the scents Outlaw and Captain.

Along with creating Touch'd for her family, she also wanted to meet the needs of discriminating women everywhere."

Rachel was so nice to send me a product to review, the organic sugar scrub. So, onto the review!

Touch'd Organic Sugar Scrub in Tropical Paradise (Retail: $36)

I LOVE sugar scrubs, in fact, I'd say I am pretty addicted to them. I buy probably way too many, but I'm always open for more! So, I was really excited when I found out that I would be reviewing the sugar scrub. I just love how they get rid of any dead skin cells and leave my skin smooth and soft. And I'm happy to report that Touch'd sugar scrub is no different. The scent I got was Tropical Paradise, which smells kind of like grape soda or grape-flavoured candy to me. It is a very nice, summery scent and I love it. Let's take a look at the actual product:

You can imagine how excited I was to take a shower once I got this in the mail! I stirred the scrub up a bit with my finger before I used it so that the essential oils blended with the sugar, because it can separate after a while, but that is no problem. Then, I scooped out a small amount onto my fingers and used it on my arms and shoulders. Once I rinsed it off, my skin felt very smooth and wasn't irritated at all, which is SO good, because I have eczema on my shoulders and arms.

(Here's a little bit of the sugar scrub on my hand. See all that good-for-you essential oil?)

Then, I used it on my poor, rough elbows. All I can say is WOW! It worked very nicely on them! Rachel also recommended using the scrub on my feet, so I did that the other night before I went to bed. I didn't want to stop touching my feet after I rinsed and dried them off, as odd as that sounds! And I am happy to report that my skin still feels soft!

The only cons I have about this product is that my hands felt pretty oily after I applied it on my skin. However, I just had to wash my hands with soap and water to get rid of that feeling. The second is that when I got it in the mail, it jar wasn't sealed so some of the oil leaked through the package and into my mailbox, but I believe that Rachel is working on that issue. Also, it is a bit pricey at $36, but I think it's worth it.

So, all in all, I highly recommend this product to you. It works and smells lovely. Also, it ranks up with my favorite sugar scrub ever from Victoria's Secret!
